Why a QuickBooks file drifts
QuickBooks Online makes it easy to connect a bank account and start categorizing. What it cannot do on its own is check that the result is right. Transfers get recorded as income, a loan payment lands in expenses, the same deposit is matched twice, and the balance sheet slowly stops agreeing with the bank. The file still produces reports; they just are not true.
Monthly bookkeeping fixes that by doing the part the software leaves to you: reviewing every transaction in the feed, reconciling each account to its statement, and posting the adjustments that keep the balance sheet honest.
What we do in your file each month
- Review and code the bank and credit card feeds, including payment processor payouts
- Reconcile every bank, credit card and loan account covered by your package
- Track GST/HST on sales and purchases, and prepare the return when it is due
- Run payroll where your package includes it, and post it to the books
- Send you a profit and loss and balance sheet, and flag anything that needs your input
Packages start at $150/month plus applicable taxes, with the transaction, account and payroll capacity of each listed on the monthly bookkeeping page. See how our pricing works for what moves the fee.
You keep the file
The subscription is in your name and paid by you, so the file and its history stay yours. We work in it with our own access, which you can remove at any time. If you also use AutoEntry for receipts and bills, we can work with that alongside QuickBooks.
