How virtual bookkeeping works
Virtual bookkeeping is ordinary bookkeeping with the paper and the commute taken out. Your bank and credit card accounts feed into cloud accounting software. Receipts and bills are photographed or forwarded rather than dropped off. We do the coding, reconciling and filing in the same file you can open at any time, and we talk by phone, email or video when something needs a decision.
Nothing about the quality of the books depends on being in the same town. What matters is a steady monthly rhythm, accounts reconciled to their statements, and a person who knows your file. Those are the same whether you are down the road in the Alberni Valley or in another province.
Software we work in
We work in QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage and AutoEntry. If you are already set up in one of them, we can usually work in your existing file. If you are not, we will recommend the option that fits your business, and you keep the subscription in your own name.
Pricing that does not change with your postal code
Monthly packages start at $150/month plus applicable taxes, with the transaction volume, number of accounts and payroll capacity of each one stated up front on the monthly bookkeeping page. Keeping your information safe
Records stay inside your accounting software and secure sharing tools rather than travelling as email attachments. You control access to your own file and can remove ours at any time. Please do not send SINs, tax slips or banking details by ordinary email; once we have spoken, we set up a secure way to share them.
