As parents of two beautiful children, we understand how valuable time and peace of mind are. Like the sea, good bookkeeping brings calm, steady rhythm — so your business feels grounded, clear, and under control.

Our Approach at Salty Sea Bookkeeping

Consistency first

We believe bookkeeping should follow a steady, predictable rhythm. By maintaining organized systems and reconciling accounts on a consistent schedule, we keep your financial records current and accurate throughout the year. This structured approach prevents last-minute stress, reduces surprises, and ensures you always have a clear picture of where your business stands.

Clear communication

Numbers matter, but understanding them matters just as much. We prioritize transparency, timely responses, and straightforward explanations so you never feel left guessing. Whether you have a quick question or need clarification on a report, we make sure communication feels supportive, simple, and approachable.

Proactive support

Rather than reacting to problems at year-end, we work ahead of deadlines and compliance requirements to keep everything on track. From GST filings to payroll obligations and reporting, we stay attentive to the details so your business remains prepared and steady. Our goal is to help you move forward confidently — without financial uncertainty slowing you down.

How we work

A predictable monthly rhythm

Books are coded and reconciled on a consistent monthly schedule rather than in a year-end rush, so your records stay current all year.

Cloud-based and secure by default

We work in cloud accounting platforms — QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and AutoEntry — so records stay accessible to you and are never passed around as email attachments.

Scope and capacity stated up front

Every package lists the transaction volume, account count, and payroll capacity it covers, so you know what is included before you commit.

Written scope before any engagement

Final fees follow a review of your actual records and are confirmed in a signed engagement agreement — never set by an automated estimate alone.
